Shearing

The division of a coil along its width, perpendicular to the direction in which the coil has been rolled or unrolled.

Our shearing machines are capable of attaining a high level of dimensional accuracy including sheet flatness. Automatic or manual sheet stacking is carried depending on product dimensions and surface requirements. Power air blowers are turned on to induce air cushioning when stacking larger sheets automatically. This allows the sheets to glide over thus minimizing scratches.

Shearing knives are also sharpened regularly to prevent burr at the shearing edges. Similar to our slitting process, quality inspections and records are also mandatory for shearing.
